Fanoe is the northernmost island in the Wadden Sea.
During the Sailing Ship's Era (1750 – 1900 A.D.) , the sailors and officers brought
home fine handcrafted scarves and silks from the Far East to their womanfolk.
Due to this import of fine fabrics, the Fanoe women's dress evolved from a simple
peasant's dress to the handsome Fanoe dress, we now know.
Today a reproduction of the original Fanoe scarves is resumed in Kolkata (Calcutta),
India. Thus we can present a unique collection of Fanoe scarves in the future.
The Fanoe scarf is a cultural heritage and a living tradition from the Sailing Ships Era.
